This guide provides a selected collection of mobile device apps that are useful to law students and lawyers. Links are provided to iPad, iPhone, and Android versions of the apps when available in each format. When an important legal information provider does not have an app but provides a website formatted for mobile devices, such as Bloomberg Law, a link to the site is provided so it can be accessed through your mobile web browser.

Links to law-specific apps as well as general productivity apps and tools for non-legal research are provided in this guide. Although many of the apps are free to download, some require paid subscriptions or accounts to make them functional. Some of the included apps that require payment are those that are the most useful, but where there is a good free app that serves a similar purpose it will be included in this guide as well.

The CUNY School of Law Library does not endorse any of the apps in this guide. Most of the descriptions of the apps are taken from the stores where the apps can be downloaded and are provided as a convenience to users. The library does not necessarily support or agree with all the claims made by the app developers in their descriptions.
